Get impressed by the beauty of historic architecture, look in awe at the beautiful skyline of old Prague, or just come and relax! The Great Palffy and Small Fürstenberg gardens are open since April 12th, the newly reconstructed Ledebour and Small Palffy gardens are open since May 31st. We look forward to welcoming you not only in these newly reconstructed premises but in the whole area.    We kindly ask our visitors to follow all valid restrictions and safety instructions concerning a health protection reflecting the COVID 19 disease and to keep themselves in the parts of the Gardens which are open to public only.

The Gardens below the Prague Castle form a single tour circuit. The tours aren’t guided.

The access to the gardens is provided from Valdštejnská Street via the Kolowrat Courtyard. The upper entrance from the Prague Castle is closed until further notice.

  • From the underground ("Metro") station Malostranská go to Valdštejnská Street. After 200 meters, enter the garden through the iron gate on the right side.
  • From Malostranské Square ("náměstí") go to Tomášská Street, under the archway of the Sternberg Palace. The sidewalk bears right. Pass along the Ledebour Palace (the headquarters of the National Heritage Institute, "NPÚ"), the National Education Museum, Komenský Library and Pálffy Palace, to reach the entrance to the gardens.


The paid parking lot at Valdštejnské Square is available (about two-minute walk from the main entrance in Valdštejnská Street).


We're sorry, but the gardens aren’t wheelchair-accessible. Due to numerous staircases, please be advised that the access to the area requires a certain level of fitness.


For the protection of plants and trees, pets (especially dogs) are not allowed. Thank you for understanding.


Cycling is not possible, due to the terrain.


Refreshments are provided only at special events.
